Pumpkin Pie with a touch of spices

Image
Pumpkin Pie with a touch of spices Since I was a little girl, I’ve despised everything containing pumpkin. Every dessert or meal prepared using it, even the much loved sweetened honey oven-baked pumpkin which was prepared in the late autumn season or in the beginning of winter. The best thing about pumpkin is that it reminds me of Christmas (my favourite holiday ever).  Even as Christmas is over, I’ve decided to post a pumpkin pie receipt. But not the traditional one, the way my mother and grandmother was preparing it. I’ve decided to go the American way! And yes, this is the best way, as Americans excel when it comes to pies. So, I’ve done a bit of research on pinterest (the best place to find interesting recipes) and I’ve found an easy-to-make recipe that combines the sweetness of condensed milk with the natural sweetened pumpkin and spices. And, I must admit that the spices did their job enhancing the taste of the pumpkin beyond my imagination. This recipe is definitely...

Mummy Hot Dogs (Pølsehorn) Happy Halloween to you all!!!  Ingredients for Mummy Hot Dogs: 1  package of crescent rolls (or crescent roll dough) 10 good quality hot dogs mustard and ketchup to serve How to Make Mummy Hot Dogs: Preheat the oven to 200 ° C (or according to the package instructions of the dough you are using). Line a baking tray with parchment paper, then set aside. If you are using crescent rolls, unwrap it, then separate it at perforations. With your fingers, press perforations of the dough to seal it and to create a rectangle. If using dough sheet, unwrap it and using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut it into 4 rectangles. Cut each rectangle into thin stripes and wrap them around each hot dog to make them look like mummies. Leave some room near the top, for the mummy face. Colourful Chicken Fajitas with chunky salsa

Image
Colourful Chicken Fajitas with chunky salsa Mexican food was always a temptation for us, therefore we decided to dig into this cuisine by preparing some simple, yet very tasteful Chicken Fajitas with colourful bell pepper. Fajita is a very popular Tex-Mex dish, consisting of grilled meat topped with vegetables and sauces served on a flour or corn tortilla.   Fajita is, also, easily customisable according to a particular need. In other words, you may use any type of meat you like, such as: chicken, pork, lamb, salmon, beef, as well as vegetables instead of meat, and of course, any mouthwatering topping, such as: lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, grated cheese and diced tomatoes. When using meat, the cooking includes red onions and colourful bell peppers.  The below ingredients are for 2 servings. Ingredients for Chicken Fajitas: 4 large wheat or corn tortillas 2 large chicken breasts 3 bell peppers (red, yellow and green) 100 g precooked black be...

Tortilla chips with Cheddar cheese and tomatos

Image
Tortilla chips with Cheddar cheese and tomatos Tortilla chips with Cheddar cheese and tomatoes (or simply called Nachos) are a delicious snack that goes very well with beer. Each time we meet friends in a pub in order to have a few pints, we like to order them. Frequently we are quite dissatisfied by the quality. Rosie McGee’s in Copenhagen used to have very good nachos until recently, but last time when we ordered, we noticed a significant drop in quality. Our own version if very easy to make. We used a large bag of tortilla chips (Santa Maria chips are our favourite), grated red cheddar, few tomatoes, a handful of black olives, pickled jalapenos, juice of half of a lime, a bit of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, cilantro, salt and pepper. You can cook the nachos in an oven proof dish or baking sheet. We prefer a taller one, so that we could stack multiple layers of chips. This time, we had 2 layers of chips and 2 layers of cheese. We added olives and jalapenos between the layers...
